Linux Mint enable two-finger scrolling (multitouch)

My one gripe with my laptop and pretty much any linux distro is the fact that I lost 2-finger scrolling.

Finally, with little searching I have found a solution:

  1. Install gpointing-device-settings
    sudo apt-get install gpointing-device-settings
  2. Run gpointing-device-settings
  3. Select the “Scrolling” tab.
  4. Check all that applay

Enjoy your new 2-Finger Scrolling

  1. If you run gpointing-device-settings in the terminal does it return any errors after exiting?

Also, just out of my curiosity, what are your other gripes? I have plenty myself, but right now mint seems to be the best, out of the box, fit for me.

  2. WOW this worked great!!! running Linux Mint 12 x86_64 (Cinnamon Desktop) on an HP DV7 laptop! so glad to have 2 finger scolling back. Thank you.
